Shri. Krshan Kumar Yadav Former Chief Town Planner (CTP), Haryana
Sh. Krishan Kumar Yadav, was born on 24.5.1952 at Village Manesar in District Gurgaon in a humble farmer family. He completed his education up to Matriculation from the Government High School, Manesar in the year 1968. He used to travel on foot to attend his school, which was located at a distance of 4kms. from his house. After completing his BA (Hons.) in the year 1972 from Government College, Gurgaon, he joined Center for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD) at J.N.U., New Delhi and passed his P.G degree in 1974. The interdisciplinary course in JNU helped him widen his vision. He was awarded scholarship at JNU on the basis of his high meritorious scoring in B.A. (Hons), which helped him in meeting his educational expenses.
After completing his studies in JNU, he joined School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi and got his P. G diploma in Town and Country Planning with specialization in urban and regional planning in the year 1976. The School of Planning and Architecture also awarded him a fellowship for his two years course. The multidisciplinary emphasis at SPA, Delhi further broad based his vision and caliber.
In the month of September, 1976, he was selected as Assistant Town Planner (class 1 Gaz. Officer) and joined the department of Town and Country Planning Haryana. During his service in the Department of Town and Country Planning, he served in various capacities in different districts of the state. He was promoted to the post of Senior Town Planner (STP) on 6.6.2005 and Chief Town Planner (CTP) on 27.4.2007, and posted in the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Haryana at Chandigarh. During his tenure as Assistant Town Planner (ATP), District Town Planner (DTP) Senior Town Planner (STP) and Chief Town Planner (CTP), he was involved in the preparation of various master plans/development plans of cities and towns and formulation of various acts and policies. During his tenure as Assistant Town Planner (ATP), he went to Poland on an advanced study fellowship for six months. He was invited by Gakuin Ichin University, Japan in the year 2009 in an international conference to present his paper on the topic “Rural-Urban Migration in Metropolitan Cities”.
He is also fond of writing on various planning issues. There are more than twenty articles published in his name in the National and International Journals. After his superannuation in the year 2010, he joined various educational institutions and universities such as School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, Amity University, Ansal University, G. D Goenka University and Deshbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Haryana in various capacities of Professor Emeritus and visiting faculty and has wide teaching and research experience in the field of planning, policies and environmental management. At present, in the capacity of Visiting Professor, he is teaching in the DLC State University of Performing and Visual Arts, at Rohtak.
In the field of environmental management, he has wide experience of teaching, guiding research, writing research articles for national and international journals. He is invited to write articles from time to time and has presented his views in about hundreds of articles appeared in the National English & Hindi dailies, The Times Of India, Hindustan Times, the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala and Punjab Keshri.
He is a very kind hearted person and involved in helping the beggar children to bring them in the main-stream at Kuruksehtra, Haryana. He also knows swimming and this helped him to save the life of his professor’s wife from drowning in Jhelum river in Kashmir, during his study tour in the year 1974.
Presently, Shri K.K. Yadav is also playing an active and important role in the protection and conservation of Aravali Mountain Range in the NCR Sub-Region of Haryana and Rajasthan.

He has already planted 10,000 of saplings of local species in the degraded Aravallis of Manesar.
He has advised and collaborated with the Forest Department of Haryana to construct earthen dams, check dams and village ponds in the Aravallis to improve its forests and greenery, biodiversity, groundwater and soil fertility. His active role has compelled the Ministry of Defense not to acquire the forest land proposed for additional military installations in the Aravallis of Manesar and its surroundings. He is making communities aware of the importance of the natural environment, especially of the Aravalis, its protection and conservation.
In August, 2019, he was awarded ‘Bharat Jyoti Award‘ by India International Friendship Society for his Meritorious services, Outstanding Performance and Remarkable Role in the society. Through his trust, the Krishna Aravali Foundation, he is trying to improve the educational conditions of poor and socially downtrodden children of the society.
